Joint communications system for armies of CIS states discussed in Yerevan

MINSK, 6 October (BelTA) – A session of the coordinating committee of the chief signal officers of the armed forces of the Commonwealth of Independent States took place in Yerevan, Armenia, the Belarusian Defense Ministry told BelTA.

Participants of the session discussed matters concerning the creation, operation, and development of the joint communications system of the CIS armies. They summed up results achieved in 2021 and determined the main events for the 2021-2025 period.

Chief Signal Officer of the Armed Forces of Belarus, Major-General Oleg Mishchenko was unanimously elected deputy chairman of the coordinating committee of the chief signal officers of the CIS armed forces.

The Belarusian delegation held bilateral meetings with representatives of the signal troops of Russia’s Armed Forces to discuss the operation and development of the joint communications system of the Belarusian-Russian regional military group.
