Belarus declares fourth pandemic wave

MINSK, 24 September (BelTA) – Sufficient number of hospitals have been repurposed to provide medical care for patients with COVID-19, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Healthcare Ministry.

All the healthcare institutions have been provided with medicines and personal protective equipment (PPE). “At present, despite the epidemic rise, there is an opportunity to leave some of the departments to provide high-tech and specialized care in other disease areas. Depending on the development of the epidemiological situation, each region and Minsk has a plan for further reassignment of beds,” the press service stressed.

Specialists from the departments of infectious diseases of medical universities and Belarusian Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education (BelMAPO) continue to visit hospitals in all the regions of the country to provide practical and methodological assistance to doctors on site.

The Healthcare Ministry says that coronavirus infection refers to acute respiratory viral infections (ARI). The only effective method of preventing the disease and its serious course is vaccination. People can get vaccinated in almost all the Belarusian clinics, hospitals, shopping centers, and even in the metro.

If falling ill, it is important to seek medical help in time.

The Belfarmatsiya pharmacies provide services for reserving or ordering medicines online.
