Minister: Coronavirus is completely under control in Belarus
MINSK, 19 October (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko commented on the fight against fake news about coronavirus on the Internet at a meeting to discuss the situation with COVID-19 in Belarus on 19 October, BelTA has learned.
“If you live on the Internet, Lord be with you. Remdesivir [an anti-viral medication] will not help you. You must understand that the Internet has become a political battlefield. If you live there, it’s not going to do you any good,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.
The president stressed that by spreading fake news and rumors about the situation in Belarus foreign opponents want to rock the boat. “Indeed, the situation is tense, and people become nervous,” the head of state said. “Therefore, people need competent assessments of the situation. That is why we have gathered together today. We need to lay out approaches on the basis of existing laws.”
