Kiryl Maskevich clinches silver at World Wrestling Championships in Norway

MINSK, 11 October (BelTA) – Kiryl Maskevich of Belarus secured silver in the men’s 87kg event at the 2021 World Wrestling Championships in Oslo, Norway, BelTA has learned.

In the final the Belarusian athlete lost to Serbia’s Zurabi Datunashvili 1-9. Bronze medals went to Georgia’s Lasha Gobadze and Arkadiusz Kulynycz of Poland.

In the men’s 60kg bronze event Maksim Kazharski lost to Azerbaijan’s Murad Mammadov 0-2. Second bronze went to Stepan Maryanyan of Russia. In the final Moldova’s Victor Ciobanu beat Zholaman Sarshenbekov of kyrgyzstan 9-3.

Iran’s Meysam Dalkhani became the world champion in the 63kg event defeating Georgia’s Leri Abuladze 5-4. Bronze medals went to Lenur Temirov of Ukraine and Japan’s Kensuke Shimizu.

In the 67kg event was won by Iran’s Mohammadreza Geraei who beat Russia’s Nazir Abdullaev 5-2. Bronze medals went to Georgia’s Ramaz Zoidze and Kazakhstan’s Almat Kebispayev who defeated Belarus’ Maksim Nehoda 9-0 in the round of Last 16.

The 97kg event was won by Iran’s Mohammadhadi Saravi who beat Hungary’s Alex Szoke 3-1 in the final. Bronze medals were collected by Russia’s Artur Sargsian and Tracy Hancock of the United States. Belarus’ Mikalai Stadub complete his run in the round of Last 16.

Aliakbar Yousofiahmadchali of Iran celebrated the world champion title in the 130kg event after defeating Russia’s Zurabi Gedekhauri 5-1. Bronze medals went to Georgia’s Iakobi Kajaia and Oskar Marvik of Norway.
