Dribin, Belarus’ smallest district capital

The urban settlement of Dribin is Belarus’ smallest district capital, its population is about 3,000 people. It is also the youngest district capital of Mogilev Oblast.

Dribin was given the status of a district capital in 1989 following the mass resettlement of people from the contaminated territories of Mogilev Oblast after the Chernobyl accident. Dribin became an urban settlement only in 1997.
