MINSK, 5 October (BelTA) – Belarus continues increasing the export of merchandise across all groups of products, First Deputy Economy Minister Yuri Chebotar said, BelTA has learned.

“Over the seven months, the export of Belarusian goods and services rose by almost a third. The surplus exceeded $2 billion, the best result since 2012,” Yuri Chebotar stressed.

According to the first deputy minister, in January-August Belarus posted export growth across all groups of products: the export of energy rose 2.1 times, the export of other intermediate products by 33.5%, investment products by 34.7%, consumer goods by 17% (foodstuffs by 8.4%, non-food products by 29.2%).

A number of factors contributed to the export growth. “Firstly, the reputation of Belarus-made products that are known for their optimal price/quality ratio. Secondly, the effective work of company managers who promptly adjusted production plans, marketing strategies, and supply chains. Thirdly, investments in the upgrade of our industry flagships. In addition to that, the prices for our key exports skyrocketed on world markets. The demand for Belarusian products remains. Therefore, there is no reason to believe that the positive trend will be reversed by the end of this year,” Yuri Chebotar added.
